Science & Nature - Animal Small Platypus

This hand‑painted platypus model celebrates one of Australia’s most extraordinary animals. With its soft brown fur texture, broad bill and gentle, low‑to‑the‑ground stance, it captures the platypus’s quiet mystery and unmistakable silhouette.

Platypuses live along freshwater creeks and rivers, gliding through the water with smooth, effortless motion.

They forage underwater using their sensitive bill to detect tiny movements, scooping up insects, larvae and small crustaceans.

As monotremes, they’re part of a rare group of egg‑laying mammals a remarkable trait that makes them a favourite in Australian wildlife stories.
