Science & Nature - Animal Small Pelican

This hand‑painted pelican model captures the unmistakable presence of one of Australia’s most iconic coastal birds.

With its broad wings, soft grey plumage and distinctive long bill, it reflects the pelican’s calm confidence and gentle, deliberate movements.

Pelicans glide over estuaries, beaches and inland lakes, soaring effortlessly on thermals before settling gracefully on the water’s surface.

They use their remarkable pouched bills to scoop fish, working alone or in small groups as they feed along shorelines and shallow bays.

These social birds often gather in large colonies, communicating with subtle gestures, wing movements and low, murmuring calls as they preen, rest and interact.

A sturdy, characterful model that brings the pelican’s serene nature, impressive form and coastal charm to life.
